Flash vs HTML5

I read the article on why apple is breaking up with Flash, and it made me feel panicked, ...panicked for the people relying on flash, having jobs reliant on flash and the worry that must cause reading Apples side. From the article the main points I gathered were:

1. Adobe’s Flash products are completely proprietary (controlled completely by Adobe)

2. Apple believes the web should be open and not propriety

3. Designers should be able to design freely without relying on 3rd party plug-ins

4. Flash is not secure or safe

5. Flash is the cause for macs crashing

6. Flash performs poorly on mobile devices

7. Poor battery performance, the article states : "H.264 videos play for up to 10 hours, while videos decoded in software play for less than 5 hours before the battery is fully drained."

8. Flash was not designed for touch screens. It works better in a PC environment.

Then next thing you know....

Apple and Flash back in love... The article states: "We have listened to our developers and taken much of their feedback to heart," Apple said. "This should give developers the flexibility they want, while preserving the security we need." Adobe chimed in and they are encouraged by the move. Another positive is peoples lively hood relying on Flash will not go down the toilet and they can continue making money.
